I don't have a clue what my life is about right now. I wish I could figure at least one thing out.
Suggestions, anyone?

April 6: Gullible is written on the ceiling
There's this joke that seems to be popular amongst users of the social site My Life Is Average, or MLIA. You say, "hey, gullible is written in the ceiling" and when your victim looks up you have a good laugh at how gullible they were.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm the person staring up. My employees are constantly making excuses for their poor performance and I fall for it every time. Today was a typical example. A rep gave me a reason for not doing something and she sold it very well. I argued her case to my boss, who was skeptical. He suggested I audit her work, which I did. Guess which of us was right? Yeah, if it had been me this blog entry would have a completely different title.
I guess I need to get harder. I really like to believe my reps when they report to me; I don't like to see the bad in them. But, that kind of thinking is biting me in the ass so it's time to get tough.
Grrrrr.

April 5: Who's there?
For some reason I started thinking about knock knock jokes today. I went online and googled "most popular knock knock joke". Apparently there is no most popular KKJ.
However, there is the old standard:
Knock knock! Who's there? Boo! Boo who? Don't cry, it's just a joke!
One that did pop up on a few sites was this one:
Knock knock! Who's there? Cows go. Cows go who? No, cows go moo!
Hilarious!!
Even funnier, though, was what I found on wikipedia: a brief history of KKJ's.
I'm not going to write a lot about what is written on wikipedia; if you are interested check it out yourself. What I will do is share a hilarious KKJ from Macbeth:
Knock, knock, knock! Who's there? Chris Sprague, here's an English tailor come hither for stealing out of a French hose. Come in, tailor. Here you may roast your gooses.
Come on now! Why aren't you laughing? You know that's some funny shit right there!
Ok, maybe not.

April 3: The Sarcmark
I love this:
"The SarcMark, short for sarcasm mark, is a punctuation mark invented by Doug Sak designed to show when passages of text have a sarcastic tone. It resembles a cross between the @ symbol and the exclamation mark. The mark was invented, copyrighted and trademarked by Sak with the help of his son. His company, Sarcasm Incorporated, has a patent pending for the mark and sells software for BlackBerry devices and computer systems that enables use of the mark. They included a period because other punctuation marks, e.g. exclamation marks, question marks, colons, semi-colons, all include periods.]"
You'll need to google it to see what it looks like. I wish I could load it to my iPhone.

April 2: What do you do for a living?
Since I've lived in my apartment I've had 3 men visit me on a regular basis...my lover, my ex-husband, and a guy I met from an online site. The few neighbors I've spoken to know that I work from home. Other neighbors may have noticed that I rarely leave.
Recently it occurred to me that my neighbors may be thinking I have a completely different "stay at home" job than the one I actually do.
Hmmm. I wonder if the pay is better.
